This is what I woke up to this morning. I've never actually seen a real live woodpecker, so it was sort of fun. I have heard him for the past few days, but today he was especially close (and annoying). I had to get up and close the window. (Sorry the video and photo quality are not that great. I was shaky for some reason.)

Wow! That would drive me crazy! At least you can sleep with your windows open! We usually can't here because it's too hot or it smells to bad (we live a few miles from a dairy).
We had a woodpecker once at our house... he was trying to peck through the shingles! Hope he doesn't make a permanent residence too close to you. :)
